world street markets, where shoppers peruse spices and textiles
alongside the latest music, styles, and gadgets. Our original graphics
reflect a unique mix of cultural diversity, urban landscape, and
pop culture. Within our wide selection we have special collections
on Jewish t-shirts and gifts, Asian t-shirts, vintage and retro
style graphics and quirky combos of all of these.
Welcome to Rotem
Gear, your virtual bazaar urban street market -- a
little exotic, a little gritty, and all original. We are a division
of Rotem
Design Studio, a graphic design studio in Los
Angeles, California.
The
creative force behind these enterprises is R. Jean Roth -- graphic
designer, writer, intercultural specialist and creative communications
innovator. Jean and her work have appeared most recently in
Indie
Entrepreneur, The
Los Angeles Times, The New Paltz Observer, and the Digital
Eve media resource group.
Rotem
Gear shirts have been featured in Metro and
the classy lifestyle+fashion magazine, ANEW (in
the special
holiday section "Our Favorite Things"), as well
as appearing on ChosenCouture.com, FinerLiving.com, Jamerica.com,
Japanese Streets, ReallyNeat.com, and virtual host ;-) of other
selection-by-editor's-discretion sites and fashion blogs.
For
most of our online products we have partnered with CafePress.com,
a privately held, venture-backed company located in Northern
California, to produce our quality items. CafePress manages the
production, payment and shipping of our Rotem Gear merchandise
according to the highest standards so that we can provide the
best possible service.
In
Fall 2006, Jean developed a course in how to kick-start
a CafePress shop of ones own and currently teaches at West
Los Angeles Community College.
Update:
In May 2007 Roth was elected by her peers as
CafePress "Voice" community representative, to serve on the merchandise
team and to help communicate and define the priorities of shopkeepers
using the CafepPress system to the fine folks who run CafePress.
Aside
from the products we produce through CafePress, we
also offer some limited-production products, as well as silk-screening
services, personalization and custom design for individuals,
organizations and retail shops.
